Your VPN insets a new default route in your interface="Local Area Connection 2". Maybe you'll need to add that route in your VM, but in my experience, a vpn is allways a PPP connection and some firewalls like asa dont allow multiple IP connections. I have people that do this all the time, but I use ShrewSoft instead of the Cisco client.
